Making of Cow Dung Manure at home

Collection Cow Dung & Preparing it

  • Use Fresh cow dung from a healthy animal.
  • Let it dry to reduce the moisture inside it.

Mix the Cow Dung with Carbon Rich Materials

  • Carbon-rich materials like Leaves, Straw, sawdust, or Kitchen Waste.
  • These materials balance the nitrogen in the cow dung.

Build a Compost Pile

  • Choose a shaded & well-ventilated place.
  • Layer Cow Dung & Carbon-rich materials alternately.
  • Keep the area/Pile moist but not soggy or overwatered.

Turn the Pile Regularly

  • Aerate the compost every 7-10 Days to speed up decomposition & prevent Odour.
  • Keep safety from children & Pets, also have precautions while practicing.

Wait & Monitor

  • Compost typically takes 7 to 8 days.
  • The Pile will be heated up & then cool down as it matures.

This is a Option

You can make liquid fertilizer from cow dung.

  • Mix cow dung with water & let it ferment for 3 to 5 Days.
  • Use this to boost plant growth (the cow dung would have a smell, so not preferred for homes to use in plants).
